RVK’s partnership with Rock the Street Wall Street (RTSWS) is off to a great start. RTSWS is an organization that sponsors a financial and literacy program designed to spark the interest of a diverse population of high school girls into careers in finance. Their program entails the following three elements:

1. A five-week finance literacy course that meets once/week and taught by a female investment professional from RVK.
2. A field trip to RVK’s headquarters providing girls in the program with a high-level view of the finance industry.
3. Mentorship in which a group of students will be paired with an RVK female investment professional. These RVK volunteers will typically meet with their students for 5 sessions, occurring every 2 weeks between the end of January and first week of April each year.

In conjunction with this partnership, RVK also partners with De La Salle North Catholic High School (DLS) through a commitment to their Corporate Work Study Program. This program places every student at one of their corporate partners throughout the Portland metropolitan area for an internship. DLS seeks to expose their diverse student population to various professional industries and careers by having students work one day per week in local firms. With the exposure of working for RVK in our industry, we hope to plant the seed of possible future education and career paths.

RTSWS and DLS have partnered together with RVK serving as the corporate sponsor. The partnership has started off well with students being actively engaged in the program. RVK looks forward to a successful year as we share our firm’s knowledge and serve as role models for the next generation!
