Approximately once a week each spring, RVK invites groups of students majoring in finance, economics, and related majors from area universities to attend “University Day” presentations at RVK headquarters in Portland, Oregon. During each half-day event, we tap professionals from different departments within the firm to discuss what they do, and what their department does, as well as their experiences in the financial industry. In one segment of the presentation, the students play an asset allocation game, and the lucky winner of the game wins a prize. Finally, we wrap up with our Performance Measurement and Analytics Manager discussing “Critical Factors for Career Success,” a truly helpful segment for anyone about to embark on their career.

These presentations serve a dual purpose: educating students who are soon to graduate and enter the workforce, and sourcing potential summer interns and investment analysts for our Performance Measurement and Analytics Department. Most recently, schools such as Willamette University, Reed College, University of Oregon, Portland State University, Linfield College, George Fox University, and Oregon State University participated, to name just a few.
